Eden Sound is a contemplative Christian prayer app built by Nostalgia Collective LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, what we don't collect, and how we handle your experience in the app.

The short version: we collect as little as possible. Eden Sound does not require an account. Your preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Information We Do Not Collect

Eden Sound does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically, we do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers for advertising purposes, or any behavioral or usage data tied to your identity.

We do not use third-party advertising networks. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Information Stored on Your Device

Eden Sound stores your preferences — such as your chosen notification time and session settings — locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

If you delete the app, all locally stored preferences are removed.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Eden Sound offers an optional premium subscription through Apple's in-app purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.

Purchase history is managed through your Apple ID. For questions about billing, refunds, or subscription management, please visit your Apple ID account settings.

Third-Party Services

Eden Sound uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat processes anonymous transaction data provided by Apple and does not collect personal information from users. For details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Analytics

We use Apple's built-in App Store Connect analytics, which provides aggregate, anonymised data about app downloads and usage. This data is not linked to individual users and is provided to us by Apple in summary form only.

Audio Content

Eden Sound's audio content is streamed from our servers and may be cached locally on your device for performance. No audio is recorded from your device at any time.

Children's Privacy

Eden Sound is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information from any user, there are no special provisions required for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children or anyone else.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Eden Sound after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Do I need headphones?

For the best experience, yes. Eden Sound uses binaural beats — two slightly different frequencies played in each ear — to help guide your mind into deeper states of rest and focus. This effect requires headphones. However, the app works beautifully without them too.

Is Eden Sound free?

The core experience is completely free. All four quadrants, ambient soundscapes, and binaural audio are available to everyone at no cost. An optional premium subscription unlocks background audio playback and the full content library.

Does audio play in the background?

Background audio playback is a premium feature. With a subscription, Eden Sound continues playing when your screen is locked, so you can close your eyes and rest in God's presence without interruption. Free users can enjoy the full experience while the app is open.

What is A=444 Hz tuning?

Most music is tuned to A=440 Hz. Eden Sound uses A=444 Hz, which places the C note at 528 Hz. A 2018 peer-reviewed study from Juntendo University found this tuning significantly decreased cortisol and nearly doubled oxytocin compared to standard tuning — creating a measurably more restful listening experience.

Is the music the same every time?

No — and that's by design. The music in Eden Sound is adaptive, meaning the pieces are carefully composed and then layered in ways that never repeat. It's never a loop. Every time you open it, it feels fresh, living, and present — like the sound itself is breathing alongside you.

Is this a Christian app?

Yes. Eden Sound is built for Christians who want to experience God's presence more deeply. The four postures — Be Still, Scripture, Prayer, and Worship — reflect the ways we were designed to connect with Him, drawn from the Great Commandment. There are no Eastern meditation techniques, no chakras, no emptying of the mind. Eden is about being filled with God — the way it was in the garden.
